A man has been taken into custody on suspicion of a hit-and-run homicide in Harlem.

Police announced Friday that a 21-year-old male has been arrested in connection with a drive-by killing in Harlem.

On August 19, 2020, Freddy Polanco was arrested and charged with the murder, gun possession, and criminal use of a firearm of 30 year old Irvin Payne.

Police say Payne was shot while standing outside the Savoy Park Apartments on Lenox Ave. when a gunman driving a white car opened fire.

In Yonkers, Polanco was arrested on Thursday.

Payne's family described him as a loving father and devoted family guy, but authorities said he was a member of the Bloods gang and had been arrested 14 times, including for gang violence and robbery, according to reports.
