The man killed in a Manteca apartment shooting has been named as the up-and-coming rapper Young Slo-Be.

"He had so much potential," say fans of a rap artist from the Stockton area who was shot and killed.

Young Slo-Be, an up-and-coming rapper, was found dead in an apartment in Manteca.

Thizzler On The Roof, an Oakland-based media company that promoted the man's work, said that he was an up-and-coming rap music artist from the Central Valley. He was killed in a shooting in Manteca on Friday.

The San Joaquin County Medical Examiner's Office said that the man who was killed was 29-year-old Disean Victor, who was better known to his fans as Young Slo-Be.

The rapper's body was found by police on Friday morning in an apartment near West Center Street and Trevino Avenue. Fans used social media to talk about how much they liked his music and how sad they were that he had died.

Young Slo-Be visits a Stockton store where his sweatshirts and T-shirts were sold in what would be his last verified Instagram post. The shop's owner told KCRA 3 that people were waiting outside his store on Friday morning to buy Young Slo-Be items.

One fan who didn't want to be named said he liked the rapper's songs about Stockton.

"He rapped about the streets, basically about how hard it is to grow up right here," a fan said.

People who knew Young Slo-Be say that he often met up with fans around town.

"He was very humble in front of everyone. The music fan said, "That's why a lot of people liked him." "A lot of people liked him because he didn't try to be better than anyone else."

Lawren Edwards, who said he was Young Slo Be's cousin, said that the artist would be missed in the Stockton area.

"Slo was very skilled and a really good guy," said Edwards. "Always promote and do well, being independent, self-sufficient, and driven by, you know, the struggle."

Thizzler On The Roof, a music promoter, said in a statement to KCRA 3: "We are sad to confirm that Young Slo-Be was killed this morning in Manteca, California. Since 2020, we've worked with Slo-Be, and we knew from the start that his work ethic and the care he put into his art would take him very far. His song "I Love You," which has gone viral on TikTok, was his biggest hit with the general public, but he also has a strong catalog of albums and a cult following that has been with him for years.

"We thought Young Slo-career Be's would go well and were looking forward to doing more great work together. This senseless act of violence took a man away from his family and left a huge hole in the music scene on the West Coast. We hope that one day things like this won't happen so often. We'll really miss him."

Fans told KCRA 3 that they are sad that Young Slo-rise Be's in the music business couldn't go on.

The Young Slo-Be fan said, "I thought he had so much potential." "He was like a new artist on the rise, but he could have been so much more."

Officials don't think this was an act of violence done for no reason, and the person who did it is still at large.
