Latin Kings gang James Martin arrested, killing Robert Smith at Dawson St. Longwood

Outside a Bronx lounge, a gunman was apprehended for murder.

A gunman wanted in connection with the shooting of a man outside a Bronx nightclub was apprehended at his home, authorities said Friday.

James Martin, 44, was detained Thursday in Queens on suspicion of murdering 40-year-old Robert Smith on May 5, authorities said. Martin, cops say, is a member of the Latin Kings group.

The shooting occurred outside Longwood's RMN Lounge on Dawson St.

It was unclear what precipitated the altercation.

Martin has been arrested for 13 offenses, including assault, robbery, and drug trafficking, for which he served more than a year in state prison before being released in 2016.

According to authorities, the victim was arrested 15 times, mostly for narcotics offenses.
