Caboolture double murder suspect stands trial as a survivor fundraiser begins.

A Caboolture man charged with the weekend double murder of two men north of Brisbane appeared in court today.

Adam Jayson Bird, 24, appeared via video this morning in Caboolture Magistrates Court following his arrest yesterday.

Mr Bird is charged with killing 32-year-old Aaron Davis and 23-year-old Daytona James Paul on Saturday evening at a Lower King Street apartment complex.

Mr Bird was accompanied by his attorney.

Mr Bird is also suspected of possessing a shortened shotgun on April 17, the day of the double shooting.

Mr Bird was allegedly in possession of a flick knife when he was detained by police in Cornubia, about 80 kilometers from the scene.

Along with the two murder charges, the 24-year-old was charged with possession of a shortened firearm, illegal possession of firearms, and possessing explosives without the requisite authority.

Mr Bird's attorney did not file a bail claim.

According to police, they discovered two men with gunshot wounds at the complex, and both were rushed to Caboolture Hospital where they were pronounced dead.

According to witnesses, a man was reportedly seen leaving the area in a Toyota Yaris following the incident.

Mr Bird was arrested shortly after 7 p.m. at a service station on Beenleigh Redland Bay Road in Cornubia, along with a Yaris for forensic testing.

The attack's motive remains unclear, with police stating that it is "too early" to ascertain, but the three men were well acquainted.

Mr Bird could also face further charges, and police have not ruled out summoning additional suspects.

Police continue to be interested in hearing from anyone who might have seen or heard anything about 5.15pm on Saturday on Lower King Street.

The hearing has been rescheduled for May 31.
