Yia Xiong and his wife Ka Lor murder suicide, shot and killed his wife before gun on himself

Before killing his wife and himself, a man in Minnesota told his kids to play in the basement.

Reports say that a man in Minnesota sent his five young children downstairs to play. He then shot and killed his wife and then turned the gun on himself.

Yia Xiong, who was 33, and his wife, Ka Lor, who was 30, had been married for ten years. Friends and neighbors say the shocking crime came out of nowhere.

Chee Nu, Xiong's brother, said that the night before the tragedy, Xiong called him.

Nu told KARE11 news, "We were joking; there's no voice or change that would have let me know what would happen." "The father told the five kids to go downstairs and play or do whatever they wanted. Three shots were heard by the older son."

After the shots were fired, the children, who were all younger than 10, called the police, according to the St. Paul police.

"The kids are safe with family right now. "The Homicide Unit gave them information about after-care resources, such as St. Paul Survivor Resources and the Midwest Children's Resource Center," the police said.
