Alabama cop was killed in the shooting, while a'significant other' was injured.
According to reports, a police officer was killed and his "significant other" was wounded in an early morning shooting Tuesday in Alabama.
Selma Police Officer Marquis Moore was killed while returning home for lunch at Selma Square Apartments, WIAT reported, citing Dallas County District Attorney Michael Jackson.
A woman later identified as the officer's "significant other" who was inside an apartment was also injured in the incident and was transported to a hospital for treatment, the station reported.
Investigators were looking for suspects in the shooting, which occurred at the apartment complex shortly after 4 a.m., WSFA reported.
According to the station, the Alabama Law Enforcement Agency and other investigators responded to the scene.
Messages left with Selma police, Jackson, and ALEA officials seeking additional comment were not immediately returned.
