Fresh information about the murder of Linda Reed has emerged.
The man who assassinated Linda Reed in December 1983 also assassinated another woman two years after the Gold Coast newlywed's body was discovered.
Troy James O'Meara harassed 21-year-old Ms Reed during her lunch break at Pacific Fair shopping centre, according to fresh evidence learned in court today.
Ms Reed was intimidated and forced to drive to a remote location by O'Meara, who was 17 at the time.
He then sexually assaulted and drowned her after tying her hands behind her back.
Ms Reed's body was discovered three days later in Gaven, a remote region west of the Gold Coast, in bushland.
It took 35 years for investigators to track down O'Meara using DNA profiling.
In a statement, Ms Reed's husband Robert said, "Troy James O'Meara murdered my wife, future children, and my chances of becoming a father."
O'Meara is also responsible for the murder of 19-year-old Vanessa O'Brien, who was killed two years after Ms Reed and in remarkably similar circumstances.
O'Meara, who is currently serving a life term for the murder of Ms O'Brien, has pleaded guilty to Ms Reed's murder and will be sentenced by a judge after final deliberations.
