Tiger King's Carole Baskin Announces the Demise of the $CAT Cryptocurrency
There was Bitcoin, and then there was the Elon Musk-signed Dogecoin. Then there was CumRocket, and now Carole Baskin of Tiger King has launched her own cryptocurrency: $CAT.
The uproar surrounding Tiger King — and the subsequent viral cast members who appeared on the show — appears to have subsided recently. Baskin, who has never shied away from the limelight, has now made $CAT available to fans as a new altcoin. She clarifies that it is not the same as the Bitcoin or Dogecoins that we have started to use for trading and purchasing NFTs and other items; rather, it is "not a currency for investment, but rather a purr-currency used by our fans to demonstrate their love for the cats."
As if that weren't enough, this so-called "purr-ency" is intended to be used by Baskin's fans to gain access to walks at her sanctuary (although it wasn't specified whether this was her original residence or the zoo she acquired from Joe Exotic in June 2020), as well as to purchase merchandise and chat with Baskin and her staff.
Baskin said, "I'm investigating cryptocurrencies because I'm worried about the amount of US dollars being printed and circulated with no backing." “I like the idea of putting money in the hands of the people, rather than banks and governments,” she said.
If you're interested in purchasing Carole Baskin's $CAT cryptocurrency, it's currently available on Rally.IO for $5 USD.
In other news, Dogecoin has crossed the $0.50 USD mark ahead of Elon Musk's Saturday Night Live appearance.
