Savage x Fenty

With a global pandemic stopping all big events, let Rihanna carry one to our living room.

Just when you felt you made the most of your time during COVID, Rihanna proves she obviously has more hours in the day than we do. Early this month Rihanna was confirmed to partner with Amazon Prime to bring us volume two of her Savage x Fenty show in early October. Last year's edition was one of the most ethnic, body-positive, revolutionary fashion shows we've ever seen, and volume two won't be disappointing.

With performances by Travis Scott, Rosalia, Bad Bunny, and Miguel and appearances by Bella Hadid, Lizzo, Willow Smith, and Paris Hilton, to name a few, the show is not only a platform for wild and sexy fashion, but we've seen the best performances since live music was put on hold this spring.

The show walks through Rihanna 's collection inspiration from fabrics, textures, color and silhouette, followed by testimonials from her team and friends. You see her on Zoom calls, cutting fabric, addressing her world travels, and they've played a huge part in her work and this collection — showing us how she's very hands on.

The show is divided into three sections: mood, sexuality, culture. As Rihanna says, "It's always a mood thing! So much inspiration comes from my mood about my clothes. "She adds," sexuality is personal, it's something that has to be owned or won. "And as for community, as seen at every Fenty show with the broad range of models:" I imagine everyone I know and love to be part of it. I like to make things I can see on people I meet, and they come in all sorts of shapes and sizes, races , religions ... I really care they're part of what I do.

As so many lately, this year's exhibition was practically put together. "Many moving pieces," Rihanna told Vogue. "We wanted mainly to make sure everybody was safe. It's rough with global pandemic, but we're tough cookies, and we love a challenge!
