Eduardo Brittingham and Kary Brittingham of 'RHOD' divorced after 12 years of marriage.
Kary Brittingham and Eduardo Brittingham are divorcing.
The Real Housewives of Dallas star revealed their divorce on Instagram on Tuesday, just days before the reality show's reunion.
“Before we begin tonight's show, I want you to know that Eduardo and I have made the extremely difficult decision to divorce,” she wrote. “He has been the most incredible father to my four children for the last 17 years, and for that I am eternally grateful.”
Kary penned the message next to a photograph of herself, Eduardo, and the twins. The estranged couple shares one daughter, Isabella, while Kary has three children from a previous marriage: Sofia, Olivia, and Alex.
Kary and Eduardo married in Careyes, Mexico, in 2009.
“He has been the most incredible father to my four children for the last 17 years, for which I am eternally grateful,” the Bravolebrity added. “We are embarking on this new journey as co-parents together, and while I am aware that it will be challenging, I am sure that we will navigate this new chapter of life with the same level of mutual respect and love that we have shared for so long.”
Kary admitted that "restarting at 50 can be frightening," but clarified that divorcing was the "right thing" for her and her children.
“If you believe in the power of prayer, will you please pray for us as we navigate this new territory?” she concluded her letter.
Kary revealed the news to her co-stars during the "RHOD" reunion, revealing that she was in "so much agony" while filming.
“This was a particularly trying season for me, and as I reflected on it, I realized how much I was hurting and how much I was struggling with my life. As I listened, I became aware of how much pain I was in. My marriage was collapsing, and I refused to believe it,” Kary sobbed.
“After the show concluded, you know, Eduardo and I had a genuine heart-to-heart discussion, and we agreed that we needed to go our separate ways. And we only told our children prior to their arrival at the reunion.”
