C Blu is a hip-hop artist.
C Blu, a rising 16-year-old hip hop drill star, is a friend of Kay Flock, a rapper who is suspected of killing a Bronx cop.

Bronx teenager C Blu, who is a rising rap star and a close friend of Kay Flock, the popular hip-hop artist who was recently arrested for murder, has been linked to a shooting in the Bronx. The 16-year-old is accused of shooting a cop during a fight over his stolen gun.

Some of Camrin Williams' YouTube videos have more than 1 million views. He is known as C Blu in the Bronx drill rap scene.

A group of people outside a building on Lorillard Place near Third Avenue were "disorderly," cops say, and he was part of it. It's said that after the young musician didn't follow police orders to take his hands out of his pockets, an officer started to fight with the young man. In the fight, he fired one round through his own leg before the same bullet hit Officer Kaseem Pennant in the leg.

It was Assistant District Attorney Joseph Maniscalco's job to say that C Blu was on probation for having guns at the time that the cop was killed by him. He said that the rapper, who is in the 11th grade, often showed off guns and money.

"This defendant has used social media to show off a gun that looks like the one he had in the incident," Maniscalco said.

Not guilty: C Blu said that he didn't want to go to court for criminal possession of a weapon and other weapons charges. It was Dawn Florio's job to defend him. She said that cops had piled on C Blu for no reason at all. During the fight, a gun went off, but the rapper didn't fire it, she said.

In a video, Florio said, "My client didn't touch the gun." People said that they thought the police officer had shot my client.

Florio, a lawyer who worked with rapper Tekashi69, said the cops went after C Blu because "they know he's an artist." He's very well-known. She said the previous gun case came from a weapon C Blu used as a prop in a music video.

When the Bronx teen went to court, it was a big change in his life. He was a smart student before he allegedly joined the gangs and became a teen hip-hop star.

"I'm still at school. You have to be smart... It's not just the rapping that C Blu wants to do: "Also I want to be a biochemist." He said this in an interview on YouTube this month. "I was a big fan of science," says the person.

His friends and rappers like Lil Pump also helped him make beats along the way.

To get guns, he wrote lyrics about fighting against other gangs in the Bronx.

Buy a Glock. This one came with a beam. In one song called "No Ozone Part 2," he raps, "No, I can't miss. All I shoot are greens."

In my pocket, I have a.22. Not a Diss: He spits in another called "Masked."

When he started being home-schooled in November, Florio said that his fame had become a problem at high school, so he started going there.

One of Kay Flock's friends lived near them. Flock, an 18-year-old drill star, was arrested in December on murder charges for shooting a man outside a Manhattan barber shop.

In the last few weeks, C Blu signed with Interscope Records. Florio said that C Blu got "a very large advance in the hundreds of thousands of dollars."

Asked about his friend's murder case in the recent interview, the man became very quiet. He had been on many Kay Flock songs before that.

"Free bro," C Blu said, but he didn't say if he had talked to the rapper, whose real name is Kevin Perez, since he was arrested.

To make enough money in rap, C Blu wants to move his mother out of the "hood."

One of C Blu's relatives was angry when she opened the door to their apartment about a half mile from where the shooting took place Wednesday.

Woman: "Get the f—- out of my door." "We're not going to answer any stories, bro."

It looked like C Blu was near the top of the city's popular drill rap scene, which has produced rappers like Sheff G and the late Pop Smoke.

Because he is a member of the Reyway crew, which is part of the Crips, prosecutors say he is a member of the group.

The rapper and the officer who was hurt were both taken to the nearby St. Barnabas Hospital. When the police officer came out of surgery, it was on Wednesday.
