Paulina Porizkova, 56, poses in a bikini to convey a powerful message about the benefits of aging.
Paulina Porizkova takes pride in her youth.
The 56-year-old supermodel shared an Instagram photo of herself poolside in a string bikini, showcasing her amazing abs and natural gray hair.
Porizkova also shared her candid thoughts about society's dangerous obsession with youth in her caption.
“Age of combat. Age reversal. Rejuvenate. Anti-ageing. All of this is implausible. Nonetheless, if you conduct an internet search on aging, you will find this. Porizkova began, "Pills, potions, and workouts to combat the aging process."
“Are you aware of the only way to halt aging? Dying.”
The catwalk vet continued, "I have no interest in fighting my body; I prefer to celebrate it."
“I am not interested in fighting myself every day of my life,” she wrote. “However, I want to make the most of what I've been given. And I want to shine a spotlight on the shame heaped on women for daring to age.”
Porizkova also praised a number of other women for their commitment to "accepting their aging and making it beautiful," including Andie MacDowell, Maria Shriver, and celebrity makeup artist Pati Dubroff, and included the hashtags #nobotox, #nofillers, #nointerventions, #nofilter, #noshame, and #proaging.
Previously, the Czech beauty opened up to Page Six Style about her candid social media posts, telling us, "The more I posted the reality and the real me, the more people responded."
Porizkova continued, "I believe we've made enormous strides in accepting all forms of beauty; I believe that size, color, and all of these things that were once so uniform have expanded to a pretty spectacular [degree]... However, ageism is the final frontier.”
The fashion icon, who gained notoriety earlier this year for posing "full-frontal naked" (and completely unretouched) for the cover of Vogue Czechoslovakia, also revealed that, while she has never used Botox or fillers, she is not opposed to a little help from lasers and other noninvasive beauty treatments.
However, she is also wise enough not to expect miracles.
“Keep in mind that cosmetics and skin treatments will not perform plastic surgery on you,” she explained. “It's not as if you're going to use them and instantly look twenty years younger. It is not only implausible, but also unrealistic.”
