Nick Carter sexual assault rapist, Shannon Ruth & Melissa Schulman accused

In 2001, Nick Carter was accused of raping a fan with autism who was underage.

A new lawsuit and a press conference held by the alleged victim and her lawyers on Thursday say that Nick Carter raped a girl under the age of 18 in 2001.

Shannon "Shay" Ruth said in the Facebook livestream that the Backstreet Boys member sexually assaulted her when she was 17 years old. She was crying when she said this.

"Nick Carter's rape of me has caused me pain, confusion, frustration, shame, and self-harm for the last 21 years," the now-39-year-old woman said.

"Even though I'm autistic and have cerebral palsy, I think Nick Carter's actions and words have had the biggest and most lasting effect on my life."

Ruth then said, "I remember that after he raped me, he called me a "re—ed bitch" and grabbed me, leaving bruises on my arm."

She also said, "Carter tried to scare me into keeping quiet. He was mean and scary."

Ruth said at the press conference that she was afraid to talk because she thought she would "go to jail" if she told anyone what she thought had happened.

But she said that what drove her now was to "stop" Carter from "assaulting more teens and women" and to "hold Nick Carter accountable."

"Just because Nick Carter is famous doesn't mean he doesn't have to pay for his crimes," the woman said in the end. "I am and will always be a survivor."

Mark J. Boskovich, Ruth's lawyer, also spoke up to defend his client. He said that Ruth is named in a joint lawsuit with three other women who are only known as "Jane Doe."

"Nick Carter has been abusing women for a long time," the lawyer said, adding that the music industry has a history of "turning a blind eye."

Page Six got a copy of the lawsuit that the alleged victim filed on Thursday. In it, she says that she was invited to the "I Want It That Way" singer's tour bus after waiting in an autograph line after a concert in Tacoma, Wash.

Ruth then said that Carter gave her a "red drink" that he called "VIP juice" even though she was too young to drink it. She said she now thinks it was a mix of alcohol and cranberry juice.

The 42-year-old singer of "Quit Playing Games" is said to have told the then-17-year-old girl to do oral sex on him while she was crying.

Ruth also said that Carter took her to a bed on the tour bus and continued to sexually assault her there, even though she was a virgin at the time.

The alleged victim said in the lawsuit that after the incident, she got HPV, a sexually transmitted disease. She wants to get money for what she says was a crime.

Page Six asked Carter's representatives for a comment, but they didn't get back to us right away.

The member of the boy band has been accused of sexual misconduct before.

Melissa Schuman, who used to be a member of the band Dream, said in 2017 that Carter sexually assaulted her when she was 18 and he was 22.

Melissa Schulman, a member of the girl group Dream, has also said that Carter raped her.

The "He Loves U Not" singer wrote at the time in a blog post, "I told him I was a virgin and didn't want to have sex." "I told him I was saving myself for the man I was going to marry. I kept saying it over and over. He said, "I could be your husband," in my ear to get me interested.

Carter had previously said in response, "Melissa never told me while we were together or at any time since that anything we did was not with her consent. We went on to record a song and perform together. In both our personal and professional lives, I was always kind to and supportive of Melissa.

The singer of "As Long as You Love Me" was not charged with a crime.

The latest assault charges against Carter come just a few weeks after his younger brother Aaron Carter died in a tragic accident on November 5.
