As a result of allegations of child neglect in Fort Myers, the TikTok star Digitalprincxss was jailed.
On Tuesday night, neighbors saw her 5-year-old kid wandering around outside by himself without his mother in sight, according to an arrest record from the Fort Myers Police Department. TikTok star Marrissa "Digitalprincxss" Cloutier faces child negligence charges.
Neighbors reported seeing a young child weeping in the street about 10:20 pm. Cloutier, who has 2.2 million followers on TikTok and is well-known for his Twitch streaming, was detained and charged with neglect of a child without serious bodily harm.
As a result of the investigation, it was revealed that she had left her son unattended for more than one hour in an area with water, wildlife and vehicular traffic.
Nobody else was inside the child's home, but officers located Cloutier's mobile phone number on papers and contacted it. According to the report, she said she was only six minutes away from the apartment.
According to Cloutier, after putting her son down for the night, she took a brief drive to a 7-Eleven on Colonial Boulevard, 15 minutes away, in order to get up laundry detergent.
"Attire not conducive to a late-night rush to a convenience shop" was the reason officers noticed contradictions in Cloutier's narrative, according to the report. Also, the laundry detergent container was half empty, and she had no receipt to show for her purchase.
According to the report, she also stated that she did not have any relatives in the area.
It was said that Cloutier confessed after her Miranda rights were read, admitting that she "made an error" and that it was "selfish," according to the report. Since there were no cameras installed in her home, she was unable to keep tabs on her son while on vacation, she added.
She also said her mother, aunt and cousin all lived in the region. When Cloutier's son's mother arrived, she took possession of him.
Few days after the arrest, Cloutier remarked in a now-deleted TikTok video that many aspects about the incident are "extremely out of context."
According to the footage, "Please do not believe everything you read on the internet," she says.
"Pokeprincxss" was the name Cloutier used in October 2020. For copyright violations, Nintendo issued a cease-and-desist order. Cloutier is expected to appear in court on Sept. 27.
