TikTok guy Jon-Bernard Kairouz, who 'encouraged anti-lockdown protests' while in a COVID-infected hospital.
A comedian and social media personality accused of attending and encouraging an anti-lockdown protest in Sydney's central business district in July is now hospitalized with COVID.
Jon-Bernard Kairouz, 24, gained widespread attention on social media after correctly predicting NSW's daily COVID numbers for five consecutive days on TikTok, as shown in the video above.
He was scheduled to appear in Bankstown Local Court on Tuesday on charges of attending and actively encouraging an anti-lockdown rally.
He allegedly told the rally's 3,500 attendees that it was "time for freedom," referring to himself as "the people's premier."
He was unable to attend, however, because he is currently undergoing treatment at St George Hospital after contracting the virus, according to The Daily Telegraph.
Kairouz's attorney entered not guilty pleas on his behalf on two counts of violating COVID-19 public health orders and one count of encouraging the commission of crimes.
Kairouz's father is also battling the virus at the same hospital, according to reports.
He has been remanded in custody and is scheduled to appear in court on October 26.
