Golden Slipper race Sonia Kruger, Candice Warner and Mel McLaughlin

For race day, the SAS beauty flaunts her toned legs in a $1750 Zimmermann gown.

Candice Warner, a former Ironwoman, wore an unconventional frilly outfit to today's Golden Slipper run, which attracted a slew of celebrities.

The glitziest horse racing event of the year drew a slew of celebrities to Sydney's Rosehill Gardens today, with the weather clearing just in time for some glitzy fashion looks.

The prestigious Golden Slipper race, which was originally scheduled to take place last weekend but was postponed due to Sydney's storm, was rescheduled, with celebrities such as Sonia Kruger, Candice Warner, and Mel McLaughlin expected to attend.

While most of the red carpet looks were breathtaking, including model Clementine McVeigh's show-stopping all-white ensemble, races royalty Kate Waterhouse kicked off the fashion stakes.

The fashion icon and Channel 7 reporter posted a sneak peek of her look on Instagram this morning, wearing a strapless black midi-length gown with edgy cut-outs and a black hat with statement veiling over her face.

The 37-year-old, who is the daughter of renowned horse trainer Gai Waterhouse, captioned the set of pictures, "Take 2... Golden Slipper Day."

Her veil had gold speckles and matching sparkly eyeshadow to fit the day's "touch of gold" theme.

Waterhouse, who never fails to put her best foot forward on the red carpet, picked a vibrant floral ensemble to kick off the racing season at the Autumn Racing Carnival Launch earlier this month.

The floaty wrap dress was paired with a fluffy black shoulder bag and a jeweled headband.

Sonia Kruger, who looked beautiful in statement orange at the launch, made her first race appearance as Autumn Racing Carnival Ambassador alongside Golden Slipper ambassadors Candice Warner and Clementine McVeigh.

The 55-year-old shared a photo of herself wearing a $4,000 off-the-shoulder Dolce & Gabbana dress and a beautiful Ana Bella Millinery black headpiece on Instagram.

The Holey Moley host wore a form-fitting dress with a pair of sunnies and a nude Bulgari clutch to show off her age-defying body.

Kruger was announced as the face of the 2021 race day carnival earlier this month, announcing that she was looking forward to getting "a flutter" on one of the six races.

Candice Warner, a race ambassador, was also present on race day with her husband David Warner.

She wore a frilly orange and grey patterned dress with long puffy sleeves, matching gold heels, and a matching hair piece.

The 36-year-old former Ironwoman and SAS Australia star flaunted her toned legs in a $1,750 Zimmermann butterfly embellished minidress.

Clementine McVeigh, who wore an all-white ensemble with a matching turban by couture designer Moira Hughes, was among the other fashion-forward guests.

The model, who is married to Jarrad McVeigh, a former AFL player, shared a picture of her stunning ensemble on Instagram, with fellow model Jennifer Hawkins calling it "beautiful."

Others referred to the ensemble as "divine," "unreal," and "incredibly beautiful."

Meanwhile, actress Penny McNamee wore a dusty pink gown and Rachel Griffiths wore a blue gown.
