Dan Bowling, a professional golfer, attempted to meet a 15-year-old for sex.
Dan Bowling, a professional golfer, was arrested on suspicion of sexting an individual posing as a 15-year-old girl.
Bowling, 26, had been chatting up a detective posing as a teen online since April, according to Florida police. The exchanges "became sexual in nature within the first 24 hours and escalated rapidly."
According to police, the "dangerous online abuser" was arrested Thursday in Orlando "as he arrived to meet up with the decoy."
According to People magazine, the Canadian linksman was charged with indecent contact, traveling to meet with a minor, and alleged lewd and lascivious molestation.
“Unfortunately, there may be hundreds of predators online like Mr. Bowling,” Jennifer Wing of the Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force reportedly said.
“I hope today's arrest serves as a reminder to parents to be more vigilant in tracking their children's online lives.”
