A Philadelphia guy kills his stepfather because of a gay visitor.
An 18-year-old Philadelphia boy is accused of shooting and killing his stepfather because their house had a gay guest, according to authorities.
Dennis McKenzie, 43, was fatally shot in his New Jersey home earlier this month by Christian A. Smith, who has been charged with first-degree murder.
In Woolwich Township, Smith, 23, was temporarily staying with his mother and McKenzie. According to reports, on Oct. 9, he expressed his displeasure with the sexual orientation of a visitor at their house for a party.
According to NJ.com, "he made it clear to his stepfather that he did not approve of the individual coming into their house." 'Their house was a house of God,' he said.'"
The debate turned deadly when it became enraged.
As the prosecutor noted, Mr. Smith was not wounded when his stepfather "made a swing at him and, I suppose, maybe superficially hit him.
To respond, Mr. Smith pulled a Glock 19 from his waistband and shot him three times, according to the police report. Once in the head and once in the body, the victim was struck twice and died on the spot.
