The 2024 Chevy Tahoe SS gets more power and uses the same engine as the Cadillac Escalade-V.
Every fan of General Motors SUVs knows that the family-friendly Chevrolet Tahoe/GMC Yukon and the high-end Cadillac Escalade are related. And that gives some people ideas all the time.
Here's something interesting. When General Motors started showing off the fifth-generation full-sized SUVs in December 2019, Chevrolet was the first to walk down the red carpet. Then, over the next two months, the GMC Yukon and Cadillac Escalade, which were also built on the same platform as the Tahoe, came out.
But Cadillac will soon make up for it by releasing the Escalade-V contender, which will be the first flagship high-performance version. No one knows if Chevy and GMC will ever get the same goodies, which are said to include Cadillac's CT5-V Blackwing LT4 6.2L supercharged V8 engine and ten-speed automatic box (the six-speed manual is probably out of the question).
Chevy fans still hope that the Tahoe will get a chance to show off its sportier side. This is because recently seen prototypes had full camouflage and unique new wheels. Well, it's not much of a hook, but the virtual artist known on social media as c zr1 still wanted to give us something to think about with CGI.
The story that began with a set of new wheels that didn't know what was going on is, however, quite long. It has to do with the pixel master's desire to let his imagination run wild with a 2024 Tahoe SS (Super Sport trim) and the Escalade-V powertrain goodies. Then, the CGI expert chose this exact path because the rumor mill says that 2024MY will be a good time for Chevy to give the Tahoe a much-needed update.
So, it was the perfect reason to make a fake 2024 Tahoe SS that looked like high-performance Chevy cars (think Camaro, Corvette Z06). Also, the front fascia has been updated to match the new Silverado, and spy photographers caught those unique wheels while the SUV was being tested. This digital SUV also has a secret 600-plus horsepower engine!
